What my experience has been is that compared to the old distributed system of curation, the current boosting system in no way compares to the decent virality that used to be possible under the old system.

Getting boosted helps you gain more views for sure, and maybe claps, for which we're genuinely grateful, but I haven't seen a massive traction advantage when compared to the the old curation/distribution model.
