You live in a world of fast-paced communication where, at the touch of a button, you can connect with countless people. In many ways, this high-speed connectivity is a blessing. It comes with benefits, but being able to see people’s personal profiles, super-refined and designed to shine, might lead you into the trap of comparing yourself with others.

When you look at the perfected images and life descriptions of people online and in the media, you may imagine you come off worse. It’s difficult not to compare your image, lifestyle, and abilities to those you see in your surroundings online and in your environment. When you compare yourself to people, you don’t see the entire picture. You see an idealized version of who they are rather than reality.
