Losing Followers? Here’s What You’re Doing Wrong on Social Media

Famous British author J.K. Rowling lost a ton of social media followers and faced backlash due to her comments on transgender issues, which many perceived as transphobic.

American comedian and actor Kevin Hart lost droves of followers and faced backlash after old homophobic tweets resurfaced, leading to his stepping down as host of the Oscars.

Social media influencer Logan Paul lost millions of followers after posting a video in Japan’s “Suicide Forest” that showed a dead body, which was widely condemned as insensitive and disrespectful.

People unfollow social media accounts for a variety of reasons. Some people may have followed your account just to get a follow-back. And some will periodically reduce the number of accounts they follow just to tidy up their feed.

As a result, you can expect a steady stream of “un-followers” as well as, hopefully, a healthy growth in new ones. Nonetheless, you know you have a problem when the balance tips and the un-followers outnumber the new followers.
