You want to write, but you feel uninspired. When you do write, you strive to make your writing the best it can be, refining and editing every last paragraph, but deep down you wonder if it’s worth it. Truth be told, you can’t even get excited about your favorite subjects and most popular niche topics.

Sound familiar?

Anyone else might diagnose you with writer’s block.

But writer’s block isn’t the only thing that can stop a writer in their tracks. There’s also writing platform fatigue.

How writing platform fatigue makes you feel

The phrase “platform fatigue” (and its cousin, “digital fatigue”) has been making the rounds in our modern workplaces for several decades now.

Platform fatigue covers a wide variety of digital tools; the word platform “fits in the vague space that we used to fill with ‘software’ and ‘program.’” Basically, platform fatigue means content producers or communicators get tired of spreading their energy and content thin over a number of services and products that users may or may not find and use.
